Lil Nas X? Olivia Rodrigo? ABBA? 2022 Grammy Awards Predictions According to Pageview Data

Posted by

The internet already has *lots* of thoughts about who will win an award at this year’s Grammy Awards on April 3rd, 2022. Can you blame them? With so many talented nominees, the 64th annual Grammy Awards will be a moment to watch our favorite stars shine.

Ahead of the big night, we have predictions about who will take home an award, thanks to our US publisher network. We’ve compiled US data, pulled on February 28th, 2022, on how many pageviews artists mentioned in articles on our US publisher network have received in the last 90 days. In total, the term “Grammys” has culled 236,300 pageviews.

For clarification, artists who have a N/A next to their name in the data mean we have not seen a sufficient amount of articles published about them across our US network, with the exception of H.E.R. It’s difficult for AI to determine readership levels for HER/H.E.R. since her name is a common word in articles due to the pronoun.

Additionally, if more than one artist is nominated together, we searched their names separately and combined their pageviews.

Ahead, read about the nominees who’ve piqued a lot of people’s interest on the open web this past year, and why we think their number of pageviews may determine whether or not they’ll be going home with an award on Grammy’s night.

Taboola’s Prediction: Billie Eilish

You heard it here first! Based on the number of pageviews on Billie Eilish, we predict her record “Happier Than Ever” will win a Record of the Year award. Her record was released in July 2021. For the past two years, she’s won a Record of the Year award at the Grammys for “Bad Guy” and “Everything I Wanted.”

Will she win another award again? If these pageviews indicate her popularity, then it’s very possible that a shiny new award is on the horizon.

Taboola’s Prediction: Kanye West

Kanye West (now known as Ye) has had quite the year. His divorce from Kim Kardashian has been just one of the top entertainment topics constantly circulating, making viewing his name on the open web almost a guarantee.

Aside from his personal life, his fans love to keep up with his professional life. too.

On August 29th, West’s 10th album Donda debuted. Named after West’s late mother Dr. Donda C. West, Donda received mixed reviews. Still, even with the negative commentary, Kanye and his work are clearly a popular topic based on his pageviews. Plus, we’re sure Kanye and his fans would be happy to see that he ranks higher than his arch-nemesis Taylor Swift, who’s also been nominated.

Taboola’s Prediction: Olivia Rodrigo

According to the Grammy Awards, this category recognizes any performing artist or established performing group who releases, during the eligibility year, the recording that first establishes the public identity of that artist or established group as a performer.

Olivia Rodrigo released her first album, Sour, in May 2021. At only 18 years old, this new artist far outweighs her competition’s pageviews and has taken the music world by storm. After her seemingly overnight fame on TikTok and beyond, it would be extremely surprising if she doesn’t win this award.

Taboola’s Prediction: Billie Eilish

If you can’t stop playing Happier Than Ever by Billie Eilish on Spotify or in your head, you’re not alone. Since Elish was already a major success, her trendy song was much anticipated before she and her brother Finneas O’Connell released it in July. Even though Justin Bieber comes in a close second for the most pageviews, Elish still pulls through as the top contender.
