Last week, Taboolars were busy attending industry events around the globe, from New York City to Mexico City and London. Below is a brief recap of each event, along with photos and a special video (in French) with coverage from September’s Paris Retail Week 2015. Ad: Tech 2015 (London) As data, content, and technology merge closer than they ever have before, this year’s Ad:Tech conference in London brought together leading experts from advertising and technology sectors to discuss the challenges, trends, and opportunities facing the marketing industry as a whole. Over 300 brands, agencies and media owners were present for compelling keynotes and panel discussions. Taboola was on hand at Stand #314 with the ever-so-popular Zoltar to help engage visitors and predict the future. The classic animatronic fortune teller machine found in arcades became famous in the 1988 film, Big, starring Tom Hanks, and remains an iconic piece of movie history today. Content Rising […]
Sports fans are some of the most voracious consumers of digital content on the web today. Nielsen’s “Year in Sports Media Report,” published earlier this year, found that fans consume close to eight hours of sports-related content each week. These habits are particularly pronounced on mobile, where fans use sports-related apps twice as much as the average user, and time spent in such apps have jumped 210% in the last year (according to data from eMarketer/Flurry). With such an engaged audience, the sports industry provides an interesting lens through which to view many of the ongoing trends in the digital media space. To learn more about how some of the industry’s leading companies approach these topics, we hosted our latest Taboola Talks on “Tackling Sports in the Digital Era: How Technology is Changing the Game.” Joining us for a special panel discussion was Troy Ewanchyna, Vice President and GM of […]
Last week, Taboolars appeared at several leading media and technology conferences around the world, across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific. Below is a quick recap of each event, along with photos and relevant discussion that each session inspired on social media. Media Tech Summit 2015 (Las Vegas) Taboola’s founder and CEO, Adam Singolda, joined a select group of senior executives, investors and entrepreneurs in Las Vegas for the annual Media Tech Summit. This year’s gathering was focused around data science, and Adam was featured in the opening panel on “The Future of Media: New Consumption Experiences, New Ad Units, New Monetization.” Moderated by Andrew Cleland, Managing Director at Comcast Ventures, the panel included executives from Under Armour and Electronic Arts, and focused on the ways that data can enable companies to better segment their audiences and provide personalized experiences for users. Great panel with @awcleland , @davemadden […]
Summer 2015 brought Taboola’s New York office ten new interns, and we have since been fully immersed in the day-to-day life of full-time “Taboolars.” From digging up industry research for RFPs and prospective clients, to brainstorming alternative titles to articles, interns work with teams on both the publisher and media sides of Taboola’s business. In addition to assisting with ongoing work and projects, interns participate in weekly mentor meetings with the heads of their respective departments, discussing goals and areas of interest to explore throughout the summer. “Taboola’s internship program recruits ambitious students and recent graduates to work alongside our teams, while also providing an opportunity for interns to take on projects of their own,” says Karen Warner, HR and Talent Acquisition Manager at Taboola. Professional development is also fostered during Taboola University (“TaboolaU”), a monthly internal education program that educates Taboolars from our New York City headquarters. In-depth sessions […]

Well, it finally happened. I’m hereby challenging the following people: The entire Taboola office – This includes all of our global offices in New York City, Pasadena, London, Tel Aviv, and Bangkok Victoria Monsul of the Wall Street Journal Our good friend, Jo Ling Kent of FOX Business …and I know this is breaking the rules but I’m also challenging Louis CK. At Taboola, we’re huge believers in talent over experience. Of course, experience has its place, but you simply can’t beat passion, the drive to succeed and god given talent. Time and again, our interns and employees fresh from college have proven that to be a fact. One such case is Roni Yahav who started at Taboola as a part-time analyst while he was working towards a degree in Computer Science and Environmental Studies. He made such a strong impression on us that we offered him to join the team as a full-time employee when he graduated. Last week, as he moved on to the next step in his career, and he shared with us how much the two years he spent with Taboola meant to him in the most creative, inspiring way. Roni asked his mother, Ilana Yahav, a world renowned artist who works with sand and her hands to […]
